I would like to welcome everyone back from the summer break and hope you all had an amazing time off. I am very excited to get started with all of our lessons and activities for this term. 

Here is a brief overview of what we will be learning. 

Maths/Mathemateg

Every term we practice place value, mental and written methods linked to the four number operations. Problem solving and reasoning

skills are threaded throughout all maths lessons.

If you want to help your child at home they can practice their times tables and number bonds to 10, 100 and 1000.

Inquiry Based learning (IBL)

This term we are undertaking a humanities inquiry. We will be focusing on Leisure and Tourism in our local area and Wales. We will explore the positives and negatives of tourism along with how it has adapted over time.

Literacy, Numeracy, Science, ICT, Geography and history will all be studied throughout this inquiry.

Welsh/Cymraeg

This terms Welsh topics are Joio yn yr Haul a'r Glaw (enjoying the sun and the rain) and Y Tŷ (The House).

Spanish/Sbaenaidd

We are learning to hold conversations about ¿Donde vives? (Where do you live?) and ¿Qual es tu color favarito? (what is your favourite colour?).

Jigsaw (Health & Wellbeing)

In our Health and Wellbeing sessions we will be focusing on 'Being Me in My World' and 'Celebrating Differences'.

Important Information

PE - Pupils will need a to bring a PE kit every Monday and leave it in school for our lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday. It can then be taken home to wash over the weekend if you wish.               

Homework - Pupils will receive weekly homework through online Google Classrooms. This will be set every Thursday and should be handed in using the ‘hand in’ button by the following Tuesday.

Snack - Unlike Year 2 we do not have a rolling snack, instead pupils can bring in £1 a week for a piece of fruit at play time. If you wish to pack them a healthy snack then they do not need to bring money.

SCHOOP - We are a paperless school, so if you haven't already please download the SCHOOP app to stay updated. The school code is 4542, and you will need to sign up to the Year 3 class.
