Ours School Song - Super Sensational Stacey
Through their Autumn term Expressive Arts Inquiry, Year 6 at Stacey Primary School have been writing and creating a school song.
First, they worked with ‘The Songwriting Doctor’ to write the lyrics to their song. During this experience they experimented with Google Chrome Music Lab and Garage Band to create the music to go with the lyrics.
After this session they continued to use Chrome Music Lab, during their Inquiry lessons. Working in pairs they created a soundtrack for the chase scene in the Paddington film.
The next stage of the process was going to Willows High School to record their song in their recording studio.
Once this was completed, they planned out what the video for the song would look like with the whole school being involved. Today, Year 6 met with media production company ‘Buffoon Media Ltd’ who filmed according to Year 6’s video briefing.
Our inquiry based learning approach has given the children real and authentic learning experiences to become enterprising, creative contributors and to create something real for their school community.
